A WOMAN who is a vendor is facing a hard time as she is always being insulted and bashed by a man she caught stealing from a fellow vendor.
Pretty Ngwenya who operates along Sixth Avenue Extension said her life turned nasty after she spotted Sipho Moyo stealing from a fellow vendor. Upon spotting him, Sipho disappeared from the scene.
According to Ngwenya, seeing that he was being watched Sipho ran away and escaped the wrath of fellow vendors who were already baying for his blood.
Ngwenya claims Sipho ambushes her in the evening near TM Hyper and beats her up. She claimed that Sipho pounces on her more than twice a week.
She said she reported him to the police but still he did not stop.
Ngwenya ended up applying for a peace order at Western Commonage Court.
“I’m applying for a peace order against Sipho Moyo. I spotted him stealing from a fellow vendor. After that my life has been a nightmare as he ambushes me on my way home and beats me up for no apparent reason.
“At times he stones me. I reported him to the police but he did not stop. I’m afraid he will end up killing me,” her affidavit reads in part.
Sipho denied the accusations levelled against him saying he had never ambushed Ngwenya.
“I only beat her up once after she lied that she spotted me stealing from a fellow vendor.”
The presiding magistrate Sikhethile Moyo granted Ngwenya a peace order.
Sipho was ordered not to physically abuse her.
