A man from Tshabalala suburb in Bulawayo is a thorn in his mother’s flesh because whenever he returns from a booze he makes noise and beats her up while demanding that his sister should also vacate the house.
Tilaza Ndlovu said she was between a rock and a hard place and was no longer feeling comfortable to stay at her house because she was afraid that her son Victor Ndlovu would one day kill her.
A seemingly fed up Tilaza revealed that whenever her son returns from a booze in the dead of the night he makes noise demanding that his sister whom they do not see eye to eye should pack her belongings and leave the house.
When his mother intervenes, he bashes her together with his sister. Tilaza said in the process her son would also insult her.
Tilaza, being a loving mother and a woman of peace, has pulled out all stops to try and change her son’s wayward behaviour but her efforts have been futile.
She ended up applying for a protection order against her son at the Western Commonage Civil Court.
In her affidavit she said: “I’m applying for a protection order against my son Victor Ndlovu. Whenever he is drunk he makes noise at the house demanding that his sister Nomathemba vacate the house. When I restrain him he becomes violent and beats us up. He even insults me with vulgar language.”
In response Victor apologised.
“I lay the blame on beer. I would have been drunk and I want to apologise for the pain I have caused them,” he said.
The presiding magistrate Sikhethile Moyo granted Tilaza a protection order.
Victor was ordered not to physically and verbally abuse his mother and sister
