IN a game of football defenders and holding midfielders might seem to be heart-hardened but they are actually soft people especially when it comes to their families.ย
They are so loving and caring and today we get to celebrate Hwange-bred former Highlanders and FC Platinum midfield enforcer Winston Mhango who recently tied the knot with his longtime sweetheart Primrose Sibanda.
Sibanda (35) hails from Dete in Matabeleland North province.
The couple, which is yet to be blessed with children, has been flaunting their wedding photos on social media.
Mhango (36), who grew up in Hwangeโs Ingagula suburb, said he was feeling on top of the world that they had finally officialised their five-year love relationship.
โIt has been five solid years of love, trust and respect in a customary union. I am happy that we managed to wed. We officialised everything at Bulawayo Civil Court before we went for a photo shoot and celebrations,โ said Mhango who is also an ex-Hwange Football Club player, and now in the books of ZPC Kariba.
While close associates Lawrence Mhlanga, a Warriors and FC Platinum defender and ex-Bosso striker Graham โGrazoโ Ncube among others were not there to witness his union, present was Mhangoโs childhood friend Noble โEtoโoโ Masothani, a Bulawayo socialite and a well-known ardent local football follower.
An ecstatic Sibanda (35) said getting hitched to the footie star was pleasing.
ย โWe had known each other with Winston for long before we got into a love relationship. My mother used to teach at Marist Brothers High School, a school that Winston went to. Itโs very exciting that the friendship that we had has culminated in a wedding. We have been staying together for some time.ย It is always good to start the year on such a positive note. My family members are also happy for us.โ
Mhango joined Highlanders in December 2020 after a two-year stint in Zambia with Kabwe Warriors.
He started his professional career with Hwange before joining FC Platinum together with Petros Mhari when Zambian coach Tenant Chilumba moved from Chipangano to Pure Platinum
Play.
Mhango was later lured to Kabwe Warriors by Chilumba but was released at the end of his contract.ย
