The much-anticipated Amapiano Festival which was slated for 25 February at the National
University of Science and Technology (NUST), has been postponed to 4 March. It will be held at Eyadini.
The promoter of the event who is the founder of Group Therapy Community Vuyisile Ndlovu said the date and venue were moved due to weather predictions.
โInitially, the event was supposed to take place at NUST, but we had to move the gig to Eyadini because it is accommodative as patrons will be able to enjoy their space despite the weather changes,โ said Ndlovu.
The last Amapiano festival, held on 31 December, left revellers disappointed when they had to leave the venue due to a black out that occurred during the event.
โWe suspect that the main reason pertaining to the black out that occurred on 31 December was because of load shedding. However, I take full responsibility because we should have had a backup plan such as a generator,โsaid Ndlovu.
A cotton culture (Umswenko) is expected to be part of this yearโs edition.
โApart from good music, food and enjoyment, revellers should expect high fashion because that
is what cotton culture is all about,โ he added.
