FOR Gabisani Ndlovu (30) of Nketa 9 suburb in Bulawayo 13 February 2023 will go down as a bad day of his life after he was allegedly stripped naked before he was severely attacked when he was opening the gate at his family home.
Ndlovu is an artisanal miner in Inyathi, Bubi district and it is believed that the attackers lay in wait at his home as they thought he had struck gold at the mine. But it turned out the attackers were misinformed.
“The attackers revealed to the investigators that they got a tip-off from Ndlovu’s friend that he had struck gold at the mine but upon searching him, they indeed realised that he had nothing,” said the source.
A source close to investigations said while the victim was about to open the gate the attackers swooped on him.
“The attackers landed fists on him and head-butted him. They tore his T-shirt and left him half-naked with bruises all over the body,” said the source.
After that they ran away leaving him lying on the ground.
He reported the incident to the police.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident.
“We can confirm that an artisanal miner was attacked when he was about to enter the gate at his family house,” said Insp Ncube.
