IT’S all set for another dose of grit and gusto as legendary Harare motor racing driver Mano Zevgolis heads back to Bulawayo to defend his 3-Hour Endurance Race title at Bulawayo Motorsport Park tomorrow.

The race closes the 2024 motor racing season in Zimbabwe and draws together the country’s top drivers and bikers from Harare and Bulawayo.

The event will feature 1-hour races for bikes and a 3-hour race for vehicles.

And leading the “Harare Brigade” will be the irresistible Zevgolis, who has made it a habit of winning in Bulawayo whenever he gets on the track to tackle the 3-Hour Endurance Race.

Zevgolis has been a dominant force in this tough and exciting race since he picked up his first victory in 2020 and he will be back hunting yet another title this weekend.

He has, in fact, monopolised the whole racing scene at Bulawayo Motorsport Park since his debut win there in 2020.

And according to Ian Gutherless, one of the organisers of the 3-Hour Endurance Race Day in Bulawayo, Zevgolis will be back racing again this Saturday.

Gutherless also said that all was set for one of the biggest motor racing events in Zimbabwe “to blast off” tomorrow.

“On the track side, the track is good and clean.

“In the Saloon A Class we’ve got a bunch of BMWs. For the drivers side, w havee Hamish and Jim Perry from Harare. We also have Bunny Rogers from Harare and Sean Cowen,n all in BMWs.

“We’ve got some Bulawayo boys, Craig Goby and Kevin Steenkamp, all in BMWs.

“We’ve got brothers from the UK and Canada racing in golf.

“And then we have Mano Zevgolis, who will be back to defend his title in his Honda, and then myself in the two-litre class,” Gutherless said.

Exciting young Bulawayo driver Dylan Pragji will also be back racing home after he recently made his presence felt at Kyalami in South Africa during the 3-Hour and 1-Hour Dash.

At the tough Kyalami race, Pragji got 6th overall in the 1-Hour Race, 1st in his class, and 3rd in the 3-Hour Race.

And the young Bulawayo driver will be back racing on home turf to add more excitement to tomorrow’s 3-Hour Endurance Race.

This weekend’s event promises to be even more thrilling, with female drivers joining the competition!

The Bulawayo Motorsport Park has saved the best for this last motor racing event of the year.

The 3-Hour Endurance Race is like a last man standing match; the strongest man with the strongest car will last 3 hours and will take the trophy. Endurance racing is a form of motorsport meant to test the durability of the cars and the endurance of the drivers.

Teams therefore have to cover the most laps within the given time period.
